The SEG Development Representative (SDR) will be responsible for generating new SEG and Association relationships for America First throughout a multistate territory. Will expand the SEG and Association list of America First, directly augmenting the credit union’s field of membership and increasing the number of potential members.


Creates alliances by promoting the many benefits of credit union membership and corporate alignment with America First. Promotes America First by demonstrating the value of the SEG partnership. Represents the credit union and participates in various civic and community functions to further enhance the image of America First and develop additional business relationships.


Works towards obtaining new SEG’s to drive member and account acquisition activities throughout the credit union. Works closely with the business development department and branch leadership to gain new members, open new deposit accounts, and book new loans in each SEG. Assists in SEG activities and events such as new employee training and orientation at SEG’s along with employee fairs as needed.

The SDR will be required to have a thorough and detailed understanding of the Credit Unions Products, Services, and Solutions available for Members with consumer and commercial needs. In addition, the SDR will be responsible to have an overall knowledge of the competition to the Credit Union including the products/services that we compete with.



  1. SEG Development


  1. Engages with business owners to partner as a SEG.
  2. Builds relationships with businesses and associations.
  3. Uses prospecting, cold calling, and networking to generate viable leads.
  4. Recommends and suggests solutions to grow SEG’s.
  5. Expands SEG development efforts over a multistate territory.
  6. Documents sales calls, visits, and results.
  7. Delivers regular updates to SEG development manager.
  8. Represents America First at various civic and community events.
  9. Promotes the credit union by demonstrating the value of the SEG partnership.
  10. Opens deposit and loan accounts when necessary.
  11. Networks throughout the community.
  12. Works with business development department and branch leadership to acquire new members.
  13. Assists in activities such as new employee training and orientation along with benefit fairs as needed.
  14. Remains up to date on laws and regulations regarding Multiple Common Bond credit unions.
  15. Explores new markets throughout a multistate territory.
  16. Studies and researches potential SEG’s

  1. Regularly contacts and works with external parties, such as businesses and associations.
  2. Works closely with the business development team and branch leadership.
  3. Interacts with a variety of teams and individuals to achieve goals and objectives.
  4. Maintains a knowledge base of virtually all aspects of the company.
  5. Continually provides business intelligence to the functional departments and branches.
  6. Communicates with and makes recommendations to SEG development manager.




  1. Responsible for related duties as required or assigned


  1. Stays up to date on computer applications, models, and research methods.
  2. Works on field of membership assignments as needed.
  3. Completes special projects as assigned




  • Recommended Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Sales Management.
  • Minimum of 6 years diverse work experience as a Sales Representative or Business Development Representative working with financial products/services.


Required Knowledge:


  • Complete knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Understands a wide range of business activities throughout the marketplace.
  • Adept at opening new accounts.
  • Organizational behavior knowledge.
  • Proficient in networking in many arenas.
  • Comprehends the financial priorities of potential SEG.
  • Understanding of the market pressures that drive business performance.
  • Awareness of the competitive landscape.
  • Knows how to process, underwrite, and book loans.
  • Competent at market research techniques and lead generation.
  • Knowledge of related laws and regulations concerning SEG development.


Experience Required:


  • Six plus years in business development/sales or related field, preferably in a financial      institution.
  • Five plus years as loan officer.
