Overview

Responsible for performing a wide variety of customer services and clerical duties related to Indirect Lending Department loan activities. Receives and processes loan paperwork from dealers submitted on the Credit Union Direct Lending Platform. Assists dealerships, members and vendors and answers questions or appropriately refers them. Opens new savings accounts, quality check loans and post them to accounts, processes mail, and maintains records and files. Processes ACH payments. Performs miscellaneous loan processing activities as assigned. Assists loan officers in determining completion of received paperwork from the dealers. Makes appropriate recommendations and follow-up for all paperwork not complete.

Responsibilities

1. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of assigned clerical functions.

 

a. Quality checks and processes auto and RV loans.

b. Opens new accounts when appropriate assuring all paperwork is available to process the request.

c. Receives daily paperwork and mail from Dealerships associated on the CUDL platform and performs necessary due diligence to make sure all documentation is readable and useable.

d. Works with loan officer to determine if funding to the dealership can be completed for each file received.

e. Determines which loan paperwork will be funded.

f. Follows up with unable to fund loans to make sure necessary requests to the dealership are being completed.

 

2. Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of member service functions.

 

a. Presents and explains Credit Union services and products to members and vendors assists in meeting their financial needs.

b. Opens new savings accounts and makes sure all appropriate documents and forms are mailed to the member.

c. Maintains a supply of new account information and related forms.

d. Answers and solves problems for members, vendors and staff by listening, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party.

 

3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with dealerships, members, and trade professionals.

 

a. Receives and screens telephone calls. Answers routine questions or directs them to appropriate personnel. Records and relays messages.

b. Assists with questions and problems courteously and promptly. Keeps members and vendors properly informed of Credit Union policies and procedures.

c. Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation.

 

4. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relations with Credit Union personnel and with management.

 

a. Assists and supports Department personnel.

b. Coordinates with related departments and obtains or conveys information as needed.

c. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

d. Attends and participates in meetings as required.

 

5. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

 

a. Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained.

b. Monitors and orders Department supplies as assigned.

c. Maintains paper supply in FAX machine and document printer.

d. Completes special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Training/Education/Certification:

 

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Course work in typing and general office skills.

 Required Knowledge:

 

  • Knowledge of member services, accounts functions, and products.
  • Basic understanding of loan processing functions.
  • Knowledge of related computer applications.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting.

 

Experience Required:

 

  • Prior clerical experience helpful, particularly in a financial environment.

 

Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Strong typing abilities.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Good communication and public relations skills.
  • Ability to cooperate with and assist others.
  • Solid math and bookkeeping abilities.
