  • Overview

    Assist Mortgage Loan Processor with loan processing functions while gaining mortgage loan processing knowledge.  Obtains and verifies proper documentation for compliance with Credit Union and Investor Underwriting guidelines. Updates mortgage system to reflect accurate transaction details and provides clerical support for all mortgage loan processor activities. Communicates with Processor as well as 3rd party vendors regarding needed loan documentation and any follow up. Provides support to department staff, promoting Credit Union goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities

    1. Assumes responsibility for providing effective support for all mortgage loan processing functions.

     

    1. Ensures appraisals, mortgage insurance, title reports, homeowners insurance and all applicable documentation meets underwriting guidelines, verifies employment.
    2. Reviews information for completeness and accuracy. Clarifies missing or questionable information.
    3. Follows up with outside sources on outstanding documents. Ensures that all necessary items are available for underwriting. Tracks development of information to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
    4. Ensures mortgage system is updated with accurate information pertaining to the specific loan.
    5. Effectively communicates with loan processor regarding status of loan documentation.
    6. Assists processor in reviewing weekly exception report and completing loan document tracking data.
    7. Ensures individual job duties are completed professionally, timely and efficiently.
    8. Prepares miscellaneous correspondence and records.

     

    1. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional business relationships with mortgage professionals.

     

    1. Resolves (or refers) requests and problems promptly and courteously.
    2. Keeps processors and loan officers informed of documentation received and notifies them of additional information required.
    3. Maintains and conveys the Credit Union's professional reputation.
    4. Assists processor with meeting deadlines for lock expirations, closing and funding dates.

     

    1. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with Branch or department team members.

     

    1. Assists and supports Credit Union personnel as needed.
    2. Assists processor with completing reports and updating records promptly and accurately.
    3. Attends meetings and training, as required.
    4. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

     

    1. Assumes responsibility for related duties a required or assigned.

     

    1. Performs miscellaneous clerical and mortgage related functions as needed.
    2. Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained.
    3. Provides support for Mortgage Processing personnel as required.

    Qualifications

    Training/Education/Certification:

    - High school graduate or equivalent.

     

    Experience Required:

    - Varied office experience.

    - Previous experience in mortgage or related industry helpful.

     

    Skills/Abilities:

    - Good verbal and public relations skills.

    - Strong typing abilities.

    - Basic math skills.

    - Able to use related computer applications.

    - Well organized.

    -Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

     

    Knowledge and Experience to be Acquired:

    - Thorough understanding of title reports, insurance and appraisals.

    - Knowledge of Credit Union and mortgage lending requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria.
