  • Overview

    Responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical duties related to department loan activities. Receives and screens telephone calls. Assists members and answers questions or appropriately refers them. Types, prepares, and files various documents. Performs miscellaneous loan processing activities as assigned.

     

    This position requires excellent public relations skills and a general understanding of loan functions and services. Flexibility, efficiency, professionalism, and the ability to work well with others are vital to the successful execution of this position.

    Responsibilities

    1. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of assigned receptionist and clerical functions.

     

    a. Receives and screens telephone calls. Answers routine questions or directs them to

    appropriate personnel. Records and relays messages.

     

    b. Performs various typing tasks including correspondence, closings, and miscellaneous documents required for loan processing.

     

    c. Receives, opens, and distributes mail.

     

    d. Orders and receives supplies.

     

    e. Complete loan set up and document tracking.

     

    f. Order and conduct follow up on required loan documentation.

     

    g. Disperse loan funds and post adjustments

     

    h. Process vendor payments and maintain related records.

     

    2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with members, vendors, and trade professionals.

     

    a. Assists with questions and problems courteously and promptly.

     

    b. Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation.

     

    3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relations with Credit Union personnel and with management.

     

    a. Assists and supports Department personnel.

     

    b. Coordinates with related departments and obtains or conveys information as needed.

     

    c. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

     

    d. Attends and participates in meetings as required

     

    4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

     

    a. Keeps area clean, secure, and well maintained.

     

    b. Completes special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Training/Education/Certification:

     

    • High school graduate or equivalent. Coursework in typing and general office skills.

     

    Required Knowledge:

     

    • Basic understanding of real estate loan functions.
    • Knowledge of related computer applications.

     

    Experience Required:

     

    • Prior experience helpful, particularly in a financial environment.

     

    Skills/Abilities:

     

    • Strong typing abilities.
    • Well organized and attentive to detail.
    • Good communication and public relations skills.
    • Ability to cooperate with and assist others.
    • Able to operate 10-key, typewriter, fax machine, copy machine.
