Under the direction of the manager is responsible for preforming a wide variety of clerical duties related to department counseling appointment activities. Receives and places telephone calls. Assists members with scheduling financial counseling appointments and answers questions or appropriately refers them. Types and prepares confirmation emails. 


1. The effective and professional performance of receptionist and clerical functions.

a. Receives and screens telephone calls. Answers routine questions regarding financial counseling appointments.
b. Coordinates referral queue and queue.
c. Performs various typing tasks including correspondence
d. Coordinates the coding of the modification queue.
e. Orders and receives supplies.
f. Receives, opens and distributes mail.


2. Ensuring that professional business relations are established and maintained with Credit Union members.

a. Assist with questions and problems courteously and promptly.
b. Maintains the Credit Union’s professional reputation.


3. Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with Credit Union personnel and with management.


a. Assist and supports Department personnel.
b. Coordinates with related departments and obtains or conveys information as needed.
c. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
d. Attends and participates in meetings as required.

4. Other related duties as required or assigned.

a. Keeps area clean, secure and well maintained.
b. Completes special projects as assigned.




  • High School graduate or equivalent. Coursework in typing and general office skills.


Required Knowledge:


  • Basic understanding of Credit Union Policies and Procedures
  • Basic understanding of financial counseling and modification assistance
  • Knowledge of related computer applications.


 Experience Required:

  • Prior experience helpful, particularly in financial environment.
  • Loan experience is preferred but not required.




  • Excellent communication/public relation skills
  • Strong typing abilities
  • Well organized and attentive to detail
  • Ability to cooperate with and assist others    
  • Able to operate 10-Key, computer, fax machine, copy machine.

Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OneNote, Outlook
