Overview

Responsible for assisting in creating, designing, and executing product research and analysis to facilitate Credit Union strategic plans and goals. Conducts product research, analysis, projections, and demographic profiling. Ensures that product research functions support the strategic objectives of the Credit Union. Investigates discrepancies in data, performance, and key indices. Interprets research findings and presents recommendations.

Responsibilities

Product Innovation


• Provide research, analysis, and support where needed and applicable.
Interaction with Others
• Be the authoritative source of product-related information for the product line.
• Help bridge every department that touches the product.
• Attend and participate in meetings and committees as required.
• Work under the direction of Sr. Product Developers and Product Developers.


Strategic Management


• Provide research, analysis, and support where needed and applicable.

Pricing
• Provide research, analysis, and support where needed and applicable.
• Examine competitors’ pricing.


Research


• Manage what-if analysis for product innovation and market forces.  
• Investigate trends in product portfolios and determine mitigating factors. 
• Have a thorough understanding of competitors and alternative markets within each environment.
• Analyze market trends using primary and secondary research to develop key value propositions
• Scrutinize competitors’ products and educate Senior Management how to effectively position against them.
• Be the market and technical subject matter expert within the organization for assigned products.
• Conduct in-depth product research and analysis.
• Research and analyze competitor products.
• Conduct what-if analysis in many different scenarios.  
• Study and interpret product trends and patterns.
• Measure and verify product awareness.
• Build pro forma statements and scrutinize new site locations.
• Generate and examine member profiles and measure market share.
• Perform and interpret predictive modeling and conduct member retention studies.
• Provide regular and ad hoc analysis and reports.
• Build templates and methodologies for reporting and analysis.
• Utilize multiple sources to verify data integrity and product performance.
• Ensure monthly reporting is delivered accurately and timely.

Qualifications

Training/Education/Certification:

 

 Bachelor’s  degree required.
 Four-year related college degree desirable.

 

Required Knowledge:

 

 Knowledge of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures.
 Understanding of market research techniques and models.
 Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Oracle RDBMS.


Experience Required:

 

 Two years in product management or related field, preferably in a financial institution.

 

Skills/Abilities:
