Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, the Mortgage Servicing Team Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Mortgage Servicing Team. This role ensures that team operations (collections, escrow, etc.) align with established policies, procedures, and legal requirements, optimizing volume, profit, and minimizing delinquency ratios. The assistant manager will train, direct, and appraise team members, ensuring professional and efficient service delivery while resolving member issues promptly.

Responsibilities

  1. Mortgage Servicing Management:
    • Oversee and ensure effective completion of all Mortgage Servicing functions.
    • Monitor work quality, efficiency, and productivity.
    • Track workflow and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Coordinate and schedule team functions, ensuring compliance with policies and legal standards.
    • Assist with complex mortgage functions as necessary.
    • Conduct periodic reviews to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  2. Staff Supervision:
    • Lead personnel through objective setting, delegation, and communication.
    • Identify training needs and develop programs accordingly.
    • Manage staffing levels, including interviewing, hiring, and assigning personnel.
    • Conduct performance appraisals and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Support and assist team members in achieving their goals.
  3. Professional Relations:
    • Maintain positive business relationships with members, vendors, and trade professionals.
    • Ensure timely and courteous resolution of inquiries and issues.
    • Communicate Credit Union loan policies effectively to members.
    • Uphold the Credit Union’s professional reputation in all interactions.
  4. Communication and Coordination:
    • Foster effective communication with Credit Union personnel and management.
    • Keep management informed of area activities and significant concerns.
    • Participate in meetings and complete necessary reports and records.
  5. Additional Duties:
    • Maintain clean, secure, and well-organized work areas.
    • Stay updated on developments in the mortgage field.
    • Assist with promotional and educational efforts for the Credit Union.
    • Complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent; higher education preferred.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with mortgage servicing guidelines and applicable standards.
    • Understanding of government regulations and legal requirements.
    • Knowledge of mortgage servicing and investor requirements.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years in lending or management roles, with administrative and supervisory experience.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and utilize PC and basic business equipment effectively.
