Overview

The business intelligence lead helps to lead the BI team in the effort to provide actionable, timely, and accurate data analytics to the organization. The lead must manage the balance of current and future needs in both design and content. This position leads the efforts of best practices for enterprise-wide BI solutions. The position helps to implement data visualization and data storytelling concepts, data driven decision-making, and business intelligence performance. The individual will partner with the business and leadership to prioritize analytics and information requirements and will help determine strategic direction of analytical management efforts.

Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Assist with business intelligence related initiatives.
  • Works with Analytics & Information Mgmt manager to develop a practical roadmap for analytic resources and reporting platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective analytic information management.
  • Educate and provide data solutions to varied levels and use cases.
  • Support training and onboarding of BI tools and objects.
  • Champion existing BI platforms and solutions.
  • Participate in data related solutions teams.
  • Advocate for members of the business intelligence team.
  • Act as an expert of both business and technical knowledge to provide key strategic insights to credit union stakeholders.
 
CORE SKILLS:
 
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and react to problems quickly.
  • Must have prior experience developing analytical solutions in large or midsize companies.
  • Must be able to translate concepts and directions into practical solutions.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data, and meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent understanding of SQL, PL/SQL and ELT implementation.
  • Experience with multiple relational database platforms, Oracle and SQL Server desired.
  • Programming experience with 4th generation and 3rd generation computer languages such as Python and R desired
  • Must be able to develop, maintain, review and explain data models.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player
  • Understanding of the financial services industry desired
  • Experience with dashboard design and delivery desired

Qualifications

  • Masters in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience (typically 6+ years working in STEM field profession) 
  • 5+ years of experience working an Information Technology or Analytics field 
  • 1+ year of leadership experience
  • 5+ years of experience working on projects that were highly team oriented 
  • 5+ years of experience with integrating systems together (APIs, Web Services, Interoperability & Integration) 
  • Experienced in a work environment with the terminology and processes of project management
  • Good understanding of Machine Learning models, concepts, and practices
  • Experienced working within enterprise data warehouse environment platforms such as Snowflake, Exadata, Teradata,
  • Experience with at least one business intelligence platform such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • Experience with Ticketing, and Project Management tools such as those offered in the Atlassian stack (Jira and Confluence).
