Overview

Responsible for administration of post repossession refunds.  Will send letters requesting sales tax refunds to previous selling dealers.  Uses the state governments to provide pressure to make the dealers repay the sales tax to the credit union.  Also responsible for requesting GAP insurance refunds and unused warranty refunds.  Will also provide assistance in insurance CPI claims on repossessed vehicles

Responsibilities

1.       Assumes responsibility for:

 

a.  Administrating a system where dealers are notified of their obligations for repayment of Sales Tax to the credit union when a vehicle is repossessed.

b. Sends requests and manages timeline for refund

c. Involves state government and Indirect Lending when dealers do not pay

 

 

2.       Assumes responsibility for:

 

a. Administrating a system where dealers are notified of their obligations for repayment of GAP insurance premiums to the credit union when a vehicle is repossessed. 

b. Sends requests and manages timeline for refunds

c. Involves state government or Indirect Lending department when dealers do not pay

 

 

3.       Assumes responsibility for:

 

a. Administrating a system where dealers are notified of their obligations for repayment of unused warranty payments to the credit union when a vehicle is repossessed. 

b. Sends requests and manages timeline for refunds

c. Involves state government and Indirect Lending department when dealers do not pay

Qualifications

 

Training/Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Additional business training strongly preferred.

 

Required Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of collection procedures and related laws and regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of Credit Union loan products and policies. Knowledge of all loan contract terms and agreements.
  • Familiar with deposit programs and understands account ownership.
  • Thorough understanding of the legal terminology. Familiar with all legal documents relating to collection actions.
  • Understanding of all court systems (Small Claims, Circuit, District, Bankruptcy). Completely familiar with equity calculations, priority of liens, and redemption rights.
