Overview

Responsible for providing clerical, accounting support, and administration for construction, bridge, lot loans and some commercial construction loans. Prepares and reviews related documentation. Assists members and contractors as required. Ensures that the members are promptly and professionally served. Provides support to related departments and mortgage personnel. Performs miscellaneous mortgage functions as required. Coordinates closely with Quality Control to ensure that files and documents are accurate and complete.

Responsibilities

1. Assumes responsibility for the effective completion of loan closing functions and loan activities.


a. Reviews approved construction, bridge, lot loans and some commercial construction loans for completeness and accuracy.
b. Approves construction loan disbursements.
c. Collects on past due construction loans and prepares extension agreements.
d. Monitors loans and prepares and posts extensions.
e. Completes reconciliations.
f. Quotes and posts payoffs.
g. Prepares requests for reconveyance on paid-in-full loans.
h. Sets up new construction, lot, bridge loans and some commercial construction loans and performs maintenance and updating during the course of the loan term.
i. Sets up, maintains, and disburses escrow accounts. Makes contacts as necessary.
j. Prepares year end 1099s and 1098s. Checks for accuracy and sends to vendors and members by January 31.
k. Assists members, construction professionals, and Credit Union personnel as necessary.
l. Maintains loan files and balances each day's transactions to the system.
m. Ensures that operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.


2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relations with members, contractors, and Credit Union personnel.


a. Addresses requests and questions promptly and courteously.
b. Ensures that members are appropriately informed and are aware of Credit Union loan policies and procedures.
c. Maintains confidentiality.
d. Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation.


3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with Credit Union personnel and with management.

 

a. Assists in training functions as required.
b. Assists area personnel as required.
c. Supports and assists mortgage personnel as needed.
d. Communicates with area personnel and management regarding activities and significant problems.
e. Completes required functions accurately and promptly and completes reports as assigned.
f. Attends and participates in meetings as required.


4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.


a. Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained.
b. Performs related clerical functions as necessary.
c. Stays informed regarding policy and procedural changes.
d. Actively and professionally cross-sells Credit Union services.
e. Completes special projects as assigned.
f. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Training/Education/Certification:


• Associate degree or equivalent.


Required Knowledge:


• Knowledge of construction, bridge, lot loan, and some commercial construction loan services, policies, and procedures.
• Understanding of accounting and balancing functions.


Experience Required:


• 2 years construction experience is required.
• 2 years mortgage loan experience is required.
• 2 years accounting and balancing experience required.
