Overview

Responsible for independently maintaining and documenting procedures to ensure the integrity of the company's databases. This role involves designing and implementing robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, developing data models, and optimizing data transformation processes.

Responsibilities

  1. Development of ETL Processes:
    • Maintain and document procedures for database asset integrity.
    • Design and implement ETL processes to facilitate data flow between systems.
    • Develop and optimize data models and flow chart diagrams to ensure efficient data transformation.
  2. Data Access and Security:
    • Control data access through software configuration.
    • Implement encryption processes to secure data in transit (at time of transmission) and at rest (on disk)
  3. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    • I Identify and resolve database usage issues and challenges.
    • Address distributed data issues during ETL operations.
    • Ensure ETL processes are successfully resolved should issues arise; provide periodic 24/7 on call support to resolve issues as they arise at all times of the day and night.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and tailor ETL solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with developers and end users to provide assistance and support.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in ETL development.
    • Participate in the evaluation and selection of appropriate ETL tools and technologies.

Qualifications

Training/Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and experience. 

Required Knowledge: 

  • Understanding of data architecture and information systems. 
  • Familiarity with business software applications. 
  • Understanding of Credit Union processes and procedures. 

Experience Required: 

  • 1 to 4 years of related experience, preferably in a financial environment. 
  • Experience using Windows, Linux, & Unix operating systems. 
  • Knowledge of relational databases: Oracle, DB2, MySQL, MS-SQL Server. 
  • Adequate SQL knowledge for query analysis and optimization.

  • Well organized and able to manage time effectively. 
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative. 
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
