Overview

As a Print Systems Specialist, you will be instrumental in overseeing and enhancing our organization's print infrastructure. We are seeking an individual with a robust technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proactive stance toward system maintenance. This position requires active collaboration with cross-functional teams to guarantee the seamless and efficient operation of our print systems. 

Responsibilities

  1. Printer Configuration and Maintenance 
    • Install, configure, and maintain a variety of printers, ensuring compatibility with different devices and platforms. 
    • Perform firmware updates, software upgrades, and hardware replacements as needed. 
    • Provide support and management for fleet-wide upgrades of print devices and systems. 
    • Maintain and manage printer inventory. 
    • Collaborate with vendors for hardware maintenance and support. 
  2. User Support 
    • Respond and provide technical support to end-users for print-related issues. 
    • Educate users on best practices for print job submission and printer usage. 
    • Work closely with end-users to address and resolve print-related tickets. 
  3. Print Policy and Security 
    • Implement and enforce print policies to optimize resource usage and minimize waste. 
    • Ensure print security by implementing and maintaining access controls. 
    • Conduct regular audits to identify and address security vulnerabilities. 
  4. Documentation and Training 
    • Create and maintain documentation for print systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. 
    • Conduct training sessions for end-users and support staff on print system best practices. 
  5. Special Projects and Assignments 
    • Complete special projects and assignments as assigned by leadership. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new print solutions or enhance existing ones. 
    • Provide technical expertise and support for initiatives aimed at improving print system efficiency.  
  6. Continuous Improvement 
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in print systems. 
    • Stay abreast of latest operating systems, applications, and relevant technologies. 
    • Propose and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of print services. 
    • Participate in regular reviews to assess system performance and identify areas for enhancement. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience in print system administration or a similar role. 

Technical Skills 

  • Proficiency in configuring and managing print servers and applications (e.g., Windows Print Server, Web Jet Admin, HP Security Manager, HPAC). 
  • Experience with printer hardware, driver configurations, and firmware installations. 
  • Strong knowledge of print security best practices. 
  • Strong knowledge of latest operating systems, applications, and relevant technologies. 
  • Strong knowledge of printer network requirements. 

Communication and Collaboration 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with end-users and cross-functional teams. 
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. 

Problem-solving Skills 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve print-related issues. 

Certifications (Preferred) 

  • Relevant certifications in print systems or related technologies (e.g., CompTIA IT Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).
