Performs and owns administrative responsibilities for the efficient design, engineering and support of Enterprise wide print systems. Oversees all aspects of printer placement, operation, workflow, cost managing, “at device” security authentication, and monitoring of the printer fleet with appropriate back office tools. Will oversee large scale implementation projects and maintaining of the printer fleet and its overall functionality. Works with Helpdesk staff to coordinate first line troubleshooting steps and problem resolution. Works with other IT groups as needed to facilitate system enhancements and fixes. Will manage print systems team in their assigned support roles and direct their responsibilities and job duties. 



  • Understands all functional aspects of how printers operate. Able to troubleshoot and resolve various basic operational issues with standard single function, mfp, and MICR devices.
  • Works directly with end users to determine best device and solutions implementation. Develops an effective and efficient end-user printing environment which meets users’ needs and expectations including stability, maintainability, performance, and recoverability
  • Design, test, implement, and maintain organization-wide standard printing processes.
  • Works closely with chosen vendors to conduct timely upgrades and fleet wide deployments, staying updated on new technology and devices.
  • Responsible for end user device training opportunities and best practice use scenarios.
  • Oversees and will be involved directly with testing printers and supporting software.
  • Creates standard template and automated settings and configuration procedures and sees to their timely implementation. Maintains scheduled firmware and security upgrades.
  • Coordinate the proper installation, maintenance and support of printers and applications, including expertise in correctly deploying and configuring print drivers.
  • Coordinates and monitors the efficient and proper execution of managed print services contracts and maintains close interaction with providing vendor.
  • Responds to alerts or emergency issues during normal business hours and on-call scenarios as needed.
  • Provide user support to ensure the effective and timely resolution of technical problems, keeping staff informed of the status of their request for support.
  • Document solutions to problems regarding standard printer systems and applications and record them in the IT Knowledge Base.
  • Prepares and documents print systems procedures as needed and required.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Keeps work area organized, clean, well-maintained and secure.
  • Completes special projects in a timely manner, meeting deadline goals as assigned.



  • Specific certifications in overall printer field and focus areas are preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience with technical and functional aspects of fleet management for print fleet, or any other type of IT focused devices would be a plus where experience, knowledge and skill in that area can be utilized to properly manage a large print environment.
  • Any A+ Certification, Network basics, or other IT related training will be beneficial
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required


Required/Preferred Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 OS, and additionally learned knowledge of future version OS releases when time appropriate.
  • Standard knowledge of printing from various standard applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Outlook email, and other business applications
  • Prefer applicant to have a general working knowledge and experience with HP solutions like WebJet admin, DSS (covering digital processing for scanning and faxing).
  • Comfortable in dealing with print driver deployment and firmware upgrades.
  • Ability to review, assess and manage overall printing costs preferred.
  • Familiarity of and experience with primarily HP branded printers preferred
  • Thorough and disciplined project management skills is critical to this position and any experience showcasing these skills is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable with IP address schemes\scopes, networking basics, and SNMP configuration.



Beneficial Experience

  • 3 or more years experience in a print environment. Exposure to larger number device fleet in a business wide environment with multiple remote locations and a multiple building campus area preferred.
  • Should have past experience in the area of fix/break and technical support of print devices.
  • 3 or more years experience working with standard HP back office products and business applications like WebJet Admin and DSS. Any experience with other print fleet managing software.
  • Strong skill set for print device hardware and print systems troubleshooting
  • Ability to prioritize and plan projects effectively
  • Ability to assist others and share knowledge with other team members
  • Able to use PC, terminal keyboards, and various computer hardware
